Last month, we hosted the second annual anyLogistix Conference 2024. Industry leaders and experts came together to discuss practical applications and the upcoming trends in supply chain management.
In this blog post, we will take a look at thirteen engaging presentations that demonstrated how anyLogistix can be used across various industries. There was plenty to learn, from streamlining supply chains to incorporating sustainable practices and refining network designs.
Last year, we introduced anyLogistix 3, a significant upgrade that now supports multiple operating systems like Windows, Mac, and Linux. We've designed it with a modern and intuitive interface while keeping all the familiar features you know and love. This update also moved our server interface to a web browser, which significantly simplifies how you interact with anyLogistix.
anyLogistix Professional Server version now supports multiple users at once, each with their own project management tools. It runs on Linux servers and offers the choice of using internal or external PostgreSQL databases, which improves both flexibility and data management.
API functionality has also been expanded to enhance integration. We provide both private and public APIs, complete with detailed documentation, to make it easier for you to link anyLogistix with other tools and expand its capabilities.

It’s not a surprise that sustainability has become a rising trend in 2024. At this year's conference, the discussion began with how transportation policies impact supply chain efficiency and sustainability. Dr. Pratik Maheshwari from the IIM Jammu delivered a presentation exploring strategies to enhance visibility, reduce costs, and integrate sustainable practices.
Later on, Pietro Negri from Asset Consulting returned to the topic of green practices, discussing the role of supply chain management in advancing corporate sustainability. Pietro explained how you can turn environmental challenges into competitive advantages.

The future, where digital twins and artificial intelligence (AI) significantly enhance supply chain management, is close. At the conference, Prof. Dr. Dr. habil. Dmitry Ivanov from the Berlin School of Economics and Law talked about his research and industry collaboration in this area.
Another fascinating presentation was delivered by Nicholas Geary from SimWell. He discussed how Kedro, an open-source Python framework, and anyLogistix can address common challenges in supply chain modeling by streamlining data management and improving model reliability.

How can you deal with high transportation costs and rising market demands through optimized network design and strategic investment planning? The answer is not simple, but Ali Yoguran from Phoenix Analytics discussed the solution at this year’s conference by presenting a transformative project for a multinational FMCG distributor in Turkey.

Subsequently, Mark Smoliar from Rothbaum Consulting Engineers continued with a case study on multi-echelon network optimization for Wolf GmbH, a leading heating and ventilation company. The presentation focused on how strategic and tactical designs can reduce costs and adapt to dynamic market demands across Europe.
Enrique Romero Motta and Mery Iovanna Peña Fontecha from Decisiones Logísticas then explored the challenges of configuring an optimal network of distribution centers in terms of size, number, and location. In the presentation, they highlighted how using advanced tools like anyLogistix can address modeling challenges, improve operational efficiency, and aid in strategic planning.
Changes to the supply network can save costs and improve service. But how do you achieve this? In a presentation by Till Fechteler from SimPlan AG, the speaker described the company's approach to supply chain design and optimization projects. Till explained how to use anyLogistix and the steps to take in order to get the best results. The presentation also covered the use of anyLogistix to optimize supply networks in the building materials industry, with a detailed example.

Another fascinating presentation on advanced analytics was delivered by Prof. Luigi Geppert from Minerva Consulting. The presenter demonstrated how anyLogistix was instrumental in analyzing a global pharmaceutical supply chain for a French company launching a new drug.
SimWell’s second presentation delved into the practical application of anyLogistix in a real business case, focusing on the technical setup and overcoming specific challenges. Their presentation demonstrated how advanced optimization significantly boosts efficiency and decision-making in business operations.
Finally, we had two presentations connected to agribusiness supply chain optimization.
Dr. Subhro Mitra from the UNT Dallas School of Business explored optimizing agricultural freight flow from farm to fork in countries with fragmented farms like India and China. In his presentation, the speaker explained how removing brokers can increase farmers' income. He also highlighted how using advanced logistics and data analysis can make supply chains more efficient and profitable.
The last presentation was delivered by Michael Muro from C2.0 on a network assessment and operational improvements for a Canadian seed and fertilizer supplier who was looking to streamline operations across 19 facilities in Canada and the U.S. The presentation examined whether centralizing operations can lower costs as well as reduce environmental impact.

The anyLogistix Conference 2024 was a real eye-opener, showing just how much advanced technology is changing supply chain management. From digital twins to AI, we saw firsthand that the future is just around the corner. In addition, the conference also focused on sustainability, proving that supply chains can be not only efficient but environmentally friendly as well.
